The CTS Options finish at the end of the Spring Term. The CTS Dissertation Proposal Preparation sessions will then start in Week 1 of the Summer Term on Tuesday 17th of April. For the delivery of the Dissertation Proposal Preparation sessions you have been divided into tutor groups by course. These tutor groups have been posted on the CTS site on Blackboard and you must consult these in the Dissertation Proposal Preparation folder in the BA Year 2 section of the site to find out what times you should be attaending CTS next term. The folder also contains the brief and other supporting materials that you should consult to help them with finding and refining a dissertation topic.
We will have very little time to work on the Dissertation Proposals in the Summer Term so you should use the Easter Break to start researching and considering your proposed area of research. If you have any questions about the delivery of the Dissertation Proposal Preparation sessions, including allocation to tutor groups, then you should email Tony Todd at t.todd@lcc.arts.ac.uk.
Best wishes

Submission
• You will continue to submit text-based assignments in T116 by the deadline date
• You must:
1. Complete one copy of the assessment front sheet; secure it with the assignment in a plastic wallet which you will provide. The assessment front sheet is downloadable from Blackboard within the Submission Information tab within E-Submission and a copy is attached to this email.
2. Clearly write your name and student id on both the front cover and on each element of the assignment itself.
3. Drop the text-based assignment (plastic wallet) into the locked box for your course and programme area -OURS IS ORANGE coloured:)
4. Drop the file in the ORANGE box:)
5. Also by the end of the deadline day, submit an ELECTRONIC COPY of your assignment (or text-based elements where CDs/DVDs or similar are also expected) via the University’s assignment submission tool (guidance on use can be found below), through which you will have a record of receipt, this will also negate the need to submit your work on a CD.
Important Please Note:
It is this HARDCOPY SUBMISSION that will count as your formal submission. If dropped in the box beyond the deadline date, it will be deemed late.
It is your responsibility to ensure that your work is clearly labelled and secured; any work which cannot easily be identified will not be marked.
Hand-Ins Office Opening Hours
10.00 am until 8.30 pm for text-based assignment submission
Please note that it is your hardcopy submission in the locked box that counts and if not received and logged the submission will be deemed late, regardless of whether you have submitted an electronic copy. The electronic submission, if you decide to make one, is for your protection: recording the date and time received and giving you the security of a copy being available .
To submit an electronic copy of your text-based assignment (or the text-based elements of your assignment), go to your Blackboard course site:
• Select ‘e-submissions’ from the option tabs in the left hand column of your course Blackboard site.
• Find the assignment you wish to submit from the list of assignments and click ‘View/Complete Assignment: <<name of assignment>>’
• Click on ‘Browse’ to locate the file you wish to submit and upload. If you have more than one file to submit for the assignment click on ‘Add Another File’, locate and upload.
• You are not expected to have comments to add.
• Click on ‘Submit’ when you have added all the assignment files, and exit.
More detailed instructions on this process can be found under the ‘Submission Information’ tab on your course Blackboard site.
Important Please Note:
Please ensure that you click on ‘submit’ as clicking ‘Save’ will not submit your work

This week we had a Course Committee Meeting.
I wanted to let you know some changes that are taking place:
So there is an extended submission for written work from 10am to 8.30pm and the submission is 1st online you need to submit a online receipt at the day you are submitting the assignment and the go to the drop room and drop it in a orange box with one cover sheet. To be honest I don't understand the process a lot, but on blackboard there should be more information.
Another thing is that from the 9th of Feb the lynda.com website has changed and now you can log in with your UAL account.
I think that is all, if there is anything I can remember I will add.
See you tomorrow.

NICKY RYAN REQUEST MAIL
Dear all,
As the Artefacts & Affects show approaches there are key deadlines which need to be met in order to ensure that we meet our obligations to our partners Cuming Museum/Southwark Council (guardians of the Southwark Art Collection) and have a fantastic exhibition and event/s delivered on time and to budget!
I have outlined some urgent action points below as well as attaching a timeline with key deadlines and draft list of locations for proposed artefacts and installations.
ACTION POINTS FOR DEADLINE MONDAY 28th NOVEMBER:
1. Students to provide the following on Monday to Nicky Ryan via the curation team:
· A scale model of proposed installation 1:50 (or at very least clear dimensions)
· A detailed breakdown of estimated costs (keep them as low as possible)
· List of equipment required – ie. Speakers/laptops/projectors (please identify whether these are available from existing dedicated course equipment or need to be requested on loan from LCC central resources).
· Each group to provide title, names of participants and 50 words describing your project (i.e. what is the concept behind your response to the selected art work) AND one amazing sketch/illustration - minimum res 300 DPI (from the process of project development).
2. CAN YOU ALL COME UP WITH SOME IDEAS FOR A COMMUNITY EVENT ON SATURDAY 14th JAN (ie. guided tours round exhibition/family activities/workshops in relation to show, etc.)
